Solar activity
Middle
In the past 24 hours, solar activity reached moderate levels, with two M-class flares observed. The largest event was an M5.6 flare produced from Region 14046. No new active region was numbered. There are currently 7 active regions on the visible disk. The Region 14048 is moderate in size, and with a complex βγδ magnetic configuration.
Geomagnetic field
Quiet
In the past 24 hours, the geomagnetic field was at quiet levels. The solar wind speed fluctuated around ~400 km/s. Bt rose from 7 nT to 15 nT, and Bz fluctuated between -7 nT and 10 nT. The greater than 10 MeV protons at geosynchronous orbit decreased but remained above the S1 threshold. The greater than 2 MeV electrons flux at geosynchronous orbit remained at high levels.
Ionosphere
Quiet
In the past 24 hours, isoloted period of ionospheric scintillation was observed in some parts of the southern China.
